Unchanging Face
Last week my wife and I both got new glasses. Like, first time in 5-6 years! (We can't remember when)
My wife got a totally different shaped pair of glasses from before. She'll need a new haircut to match it, but we're liking her new face with it.
But me? I got a pair that is virtually identical to the old ones, in terms of looks.
My face hasn't changed in the last few years. Not that I can tell from pictures and so on. And I'm liking that, actually.
Why? Because if my face hasn't changed in 6 years -- that means I still look like I'm 27! :-)
In all honesty, I think I now have the best face I've had in my life. I look at my pictures before this current era and squirm uncomfortably at my young face. I believe that some men need to age properly in order to look their best. For me, I became a grown-up when Marie was born at age 30 and I finally look like a grown-up, too. Young, confident, mature, stable. And it's only going to get better from here.
I think I'm living a good life when now is a better time than the past, when I like the me I am now than who I was before. I'm very grateful.
