Film Music
As a film composer, my goal is to make a great film and to realize your vision. And my music is the tool I use to achieve that goal. And I use it only when it's needed.
Notice I didn't say anything about making great music. That is because sometimes the perfect score is really not listenable as a piece of music -- it may be some ambient noise or beat, repetetive riffs, or something over-the-top cheesy. But why does that matter? The goal is to make a great film, not a great sound track.
My music has no single "style" or "sound." It is very flexible. Traditional classical or "film" music using orchestral instruments is right up my alley, as are all shades of pop/folk/rock music. I am also very comfortable with electronic music -- manipulating samples and creating ambient/abstract noises. And I'm very good at creating my own unique blend of music by borrowing elements from various genres. I may marry a screaming blues guitar to techno beats, for example.
Finally, I love challenges, as they pull out the best in me. I also love to learn new things. Let me listen to an example of the music you want, and I'll be able to compose in that style.
Please keep in mind that excerpts from composers' past projects are reflections of what particular directors wanted and how the composer responded. So instead of browsing through demos looking for the particular style/sound of music you want, listen for the composer's range and versatility. It is likely that a composer who responded well to past projects' demands will also do the same to yours, even if his/her demo does not showcase the exact style you are looking for.
